Welcome to Trippa! As a host on Trippa Vacation Rentals (“Trippa”), you play a crucial role in helping travelers find and enjoy unique accommodations in Malawi. This Hosting Policy outlines your responsibilities and the standards you must adhere to when listing and renting out your property on the Trippa platform. By listing your property, you agree to comply with and be legally bound by this Hosting Policy, our Terms of Use, and our Privacy Policy.

1. Definitions

1.1. Hosts: Refers to users (property owners/managers) who publish and offer services on the Trippa Platform to travelers.

1.2. Guests: Refers to users (travelers) who search for, book, or use services offered by Hosts on the Trippa Platform.

1.3. Platform: Denotes the Trippa website and mobile application used for interactions and transactions between Hosts and Guests.

2. Account Registration

2.1. Account Creation: To access and utilize various features of the Trippa Platform, you must complete the registration process. You commit to providing accurate, current information during registration and maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

 3. Listing and Promotion

3.1. Listing Information: Hosts are obligated to supply precise and comprehensive information regarding their accommodations or experiences. This includes profile photos, 10 property photos, descriptions, pricing, availability, amenities, location, and any specific rules or requirements.

3.2. Content Ownership: Hosts grant Trippa a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and promote the listing content to market the Trippa platform.

3.3. Pricing: Hosts have the right to set the prices for their accommodations or experiences and may adjust them as needed. Trippa may suggest pricing based on competitive market prices.

3.4. Booking Process: Hosts commit to honoring all reservations made through the Trippa platform.

3.5. Reviews and Ratings: Hosts acknowledge that Guests may leave reviews and ratings and agree not to manipulate or influence these reviews.

 4. Terms of Hosting

4.1. Check-in/Check-out: Hosts agree to provide access to accommodations or experiences as described in their listings, including adhering to the agreed check-in and check-out times.

4.2. House Rules: Hosts may establish and enforce reasonable house rules for Guests, which must be communicated.

4.3. Cleanliness and Maintenance: Hosts shall maintain accommodations or experiences in a clean and safe condition.

5. Respect and Communication

5.1. Respect: Both Hosts and Guests must treat each other with respect, courtesy, and consideration at all times.

5.2. Effective Communication: Hosts and Guests should engage in clear and effective communication to address questions, concerns, and expectations before, during, and after their stay or experience through Trippa’s platform messaging system.

6. Service Offerings

6.1. Variety of Services: Hosts on the Trippa Platform may have the opportunity to offer various services, including accommodations, activities, excursions, events, and other travel-related services.

7. Taxes, Laws, and Tourism Licenses

7.1. Compliance with Laws: Hosts adhere to all local, state, and national laws and regulations, including taxation and tourism licensing requirements. Trippa does not offer tax or legal advice.

8. Trippa Role

8.1. Platform Facilitator: Trippa does not own, control, offer, or manage any listing or host services. It is not a real estate broker, travel agency, or insurer. Trippa is not a party to agreements or contracts between Hosts and Guests.

8.2. Booking and Payments: Trippa may facilitate the booking of services and handle payments as specified in the Payment Terms and Host Fee Agreement provided to Hosts.

9. Fees

9.1. Listing Fees: Listing your property on Trippa is completely free. There are no upfront fees to create and maintain your listing.

9.2. Commissions: Trippa charges a commission of 4% on the total booking amount for each reservation made through our platform. This commission covers platform maintenance, support, and marketing.

9.3. Payouts: Host payouts are processed within 24 hours after the booking. A host can request a payout to their designated bank account on their Trippa account dashboard. You will receive payment for stays within 24 hours, minus the Trippa commission.

9.4. Host Cancellation: If you need to cancel a booking, please provide at least 7 days’ notice to avoid penalties. Cancellations within 7 days of check-in may incur a cancellation fee of 10% of the booking total, which will be deducted from your payout.

9.5. Fee Adjustments: Trippa reserves the right to adjust fees and commissions as necessary. Hosts will be notified of any changes at least 30 days in advance. Fee adjustments will be applied to new bookings after the notification date.

9.6. Payment Schedule: Payments are made daily. All completed bookings will be included in the next scheduled payout. Ensure your bank details are accurate and up-to-date to avoid delays.

9.7. Disputes and Refunds: In case of disputes or refund requests from guests, Trippa will mediate and determine the resolution based on our policies. Refunds to guests may be processed if the issue cannot be resolved to their satisfaction. Any resulting adjustments to host payouts will be communicated and made accordingly.

10. Dispute Resolution

10.1. Dispute Resolution: In the event of disputes between Hosts and Guests, Trippa is not liable for any issues that may arise. Disputes should be resolved directly between the parties involved without involving Trippa, except for our role as a facilitator in the booking of services and handling of payments.

11. Guest Contract Agreements and Security Measures

11.1. Security Measures: Hosts are encouraged to use Trippa’s rental agreement forms provided by Trippa and other security measures such as collecting security deposits on the platform or by hand during check-in, and having their cancellation policies, and insurance to protect themselves and their Guests. This Agreement also binds to our Hosting Terms, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy. Please carefully review and acknowledge these policies on our website.

12. Prohibited Activities

12.1. Prohibited Activities: Hosts and Guests are prohibited from engaging in illegal, dangerous, or harmful activities on the Trippa platform.

12.2. Harassment and Discrimination: Harassment, discrimination, or any form of abuse is strictly prohibited.

13. Termination

13.1. Termination by Host: Hosts may deactivate their listings at any time, with the obligation to honor existing reservations.

13.2. Termination by Trippa: Trippa reserves the right to terminate or suspend user accounts and access to the Platform at its discretion, without notice, in case of violations of this Agreement or activities that may harm the Platform or its users.

14. Changes to the Agreement

14.1. Amendments: Trippa retains the right to modify or update this Agreement at any time. Users will be notified of changes through the Platform, and it is their responsibility to review and accept the revised Agreement.
